How to Manage Core Use on Windows Visa 64 Bit

    • 1). Right-click the task bar.

    • 2). Click "Start Task Manager."

    • 3). Click the "Performance" tab.

    • 4). Click the "Resource Monitor..." button to open the related application that manages the core use of your Windows Vista 64-bit computer. The graphs on the right side of the window show exactly what percentage of your CPU's cores is currently in use. The "Processes" tab on the left side of the window shows you exactly which processes on your computer are using specific resources from each core.

    • 5). Modify core use by right-clicking on the name of a process and clicking "End Process." This will shut the process down, allowing more of your system resources to go back into the core to be used by other programs.
