How to Slipstream a Windows XP Install With Service Pack 2

    • 1). Click the "Start" button and then "My Computer."

    • 2). Double-click the "C:" drive icon. Select "New" and then "Folder" from the "File" menu at the top.

    • 3). Name the folder "XPCD" and then press "Enter."

    • 4). Select "New" and then "Folder" from the "File" menu at the top.

    • 5). Name the folder "XPSP2" and then press "Enter."

    • 6). Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.

    • 7). Click the "Back" button in "My Computer" and then double-click the drive letter representing the CD-ROM drive.

    • 8). Right-click the "i386" folder and then select "Copy" from the menu.

    • 9). Browse to the "C:\XPCD" folder and then select "Paste" from the "Edit" menu at the top.

      Download the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package from Microsoft.com/downloads.

      Save the downloaded file to "C:\XPSP2" and then rename it to "xpsp2.exe" by selecting "Rename" from the "File" menu at the top.

      Click "Start," "Run" and then enter "C:\XPSP2\xpsp2.exe /integrate:C:\XPCD" into the dialog box and click "OK."

      Click "OK" when the service pack installation wizard completes.

      Use the "C:\XPSP2\i386" files to install or reinstall Windows XP SP2.
