How to Enhance the Windows Start Menu
- 1). Click "Start," right click on any of the program shortcuts listed at the top left hand side of the window and click "Unpin from Start Menu."
- 2). Click "Start," "All programs," browse your program folders for a program that you would like to add to the Start Menu, right click the program's launcher and click "Pin to Start Menu.."
- 3). Click "Start," right click on any of the program shortcuts listed at the top left hand side of the window and click "Remove from this list" to take it off the Start Menu. Unpinning programs will only remove them from the pinned programs list but they still may appear in the frequently used program list that appears under the pinned programs.
- 1). Click "Start," type "Taskbar and Start Menu" into the search box and then click "Taskbar and Start Menu" in the search results.
- 2). Click the "Start Menu" tab and click "Customize."
- 3). Check each option and shortcut listed that you want the Start Menu to use, uncheck the options that you do not wish to use. For instance, if you want the "Run" command to appear under the start menu check the box called "Run Command." If you want to use system defaults click "Use Default Settings."
- 4). Enter a new number in the "Number of recent programs to display" to alter the number of program links that appear in the Start menu. Click "Ok" and then "Ok" again when you are finished making changes in the "Customize Start Menu" window.
