How to Create Windows XP System CD Recovery Discs

    • 1). Click "Start" and select "Programs" to display the programs list.

    • 2). Click the "Accessories" folder and click "System Tools."

    • 3). Click "Backup" to launch the backup interface.

    • 4). Click the "Advanced Mode" option on the Backup start menu.

    • 5). Click "Automated System Recovery Wizard."

    • 6). Insert a blank CD.

    • 7). Click "Next."

    • 8). Click the "Browse" button nect to "Backup Media" and navigate to the CD/DVD drive.

    • 9). Click "OK" to set the Backup Media destination.

      Click "Next" and select "Finish." The computer will burn a Windows XP recover CD to the blank CD in the burner. Insert additional CDs, if needed. Windows XP will continue through the process of creating the recovery CDs, and will notify the user when the process is complete. The process may take some time. When finished, the user will be asked to create an emergency boot disk.

      Insert a floppy disk into the floppy drive and click "OK." This emergency boot disk may be used to boot the computer in case of a failure with the CD.

      Click "OK" to finish creating the emergency floppy disk.
