How to Transfer an Email in Windows 2000

    • 1). Download and install Windows Easy Transfer. Open the program in your newest version of Windows. Click "Start a new transfer." Click "This is my new computer."

    • 2). Click "No, I don't have a Windows Easy Transfer USB cable." Click "I need to install Windows Easy Transfer," as the program is not installed on your old version of Windows 2000. Click the "External hard disk." Choose the UNC path in the field. Click "Next."

    • 3). Click "Yes" to indicate you're using your home network. Click "No" to create a password for your transfer.

    • 4). Double click the "MigSetup.exe" in the MigWiz folder to run and install Easy Transfer. Click "Use a network." Click "Connect directly to your new computer through a home network." Enter the password you created in Step 3 and click "Next."

    • 5). Click "Everything - All user accounts, files and settings," when asked what you want to transfer, or click "Custom" to specifically choose your email account settings. Click "Transfer." Enter a user name and click "Next." Click "Close" when the "Transfer is complete" message is displayed.
