- 1). Click "Start." Select "Control Panel," then select "Add / Remove Programs" on Windows XP. Select "Uninstall a program" on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
- 2). Select "Halo: Combat Evolved" from the program list. Click the "Uninstall" button. Follow the prompts provided.
- 3). Insert the Halo CD-Rom into your computer's CD-Rom drive. Click "Start." Click "My Computer" on Windows XP. Click "Computer" on Windows Vista and 7.
- 4). Right-click your CD-ROM Drive. Select "Explore."
- 5). Double-click "Setup.exe." Follow the prompts provided to install a fresh copy of Halo.
- 6). Verify your game is now update free. Launch the game and navigate to the main menu. It should now read Ver 1.00 in the lower right hand corner.
