- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Run." If you do not see this option, click the Windows "Start" button and select "All Programs," followed by "Accessories" and "Run."
- 2). Type "MSCONFIG," minus quotation marks, in the "Open" field and press "OK" to open Windows' System Configuration utility. Confirm your choice if prompted by Windows.
- 3). Select the "Startup" tab.
- 4). Uncheck the box next to any item labeled "SupportSoft."
- 5). Click "Apply" to confirm your changes.
- 6). Click "OK" and then click "Exit Without Restart." Your changes will take hold the next time you start Windows.
