How to Use a Hiragana Keyboard

    Setting Up the Keyboard

    • 1). Click the "Start" button in the lower-right corner of your screen, then click "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click on "Region and Languages" from the control panel menu. In the window that pops up, click the "Keyboard and Languages" tab, then click "Change Keyboard." Click the "Add..." button on the right side of the window.

    • 3). Click the minus button next to "Japanese," then click the minus button next to "Keyboard." Click the check-box next to "Microsoft IME." Click "Ok."

    • 4). Click the "Language Bar" tab. Click the radio button next to "Floating on Desktop," then click "Apply."

    • 5). Click "Kana" in the language bar to activate your hiragana keyboard.
