How to Troubleshoot the CD Player on a 2007 Toyota Camry
- 1). Spray a few shots of compressed air into the CD player--aim toward the middle of the CD player. Although the stereo is a closed system, items that are stuck to the CD when inserted into the player can clog up the gears on the machine or stick to the CD-reading lens. The debris is typically dust, dirt and hair. The compressed air removes this from the CD player.
- 2). Change out the fuse to the CD player if the CD player isn't responding and the clock on the dash isn't working. The fuse box is located under the steering wheel. It is difficult to access. Look in your user's manual for the exact location of the fuse box in your model.
- 3). Press the "Aux" button if you are attempting to listen to MP3 music through the "Aux" line in the stereo system. Without pushing the button you can't listen to your MP3 music.
- 4). Insert a small, flat-edged screwdriver into the CD player if your CD is stuck. Start from the side of the CD player and angle the screwdriver toward the middle of the player, making sure the screwdriver slides under the CD. Move the screwdriver to the back of the CD and press up slightly. This raises the edge of the CD and usually the CD player automatically ejects the CD. If not, continue to raise the back of the CD until it comes lose of the player. You won't break the CD because there isn't enough room to bend the CD extensively. There is a slight chance you'll scratch the CD, but it it is less expensive to replace the CD if damaged than the entire CD player if you can't remove the CD.
