    • 1). Navigate to the "Start" menu, select "All Programs," then click "Gateway Recovery Management."

    • 2). Select the "Restore" tab, then click "Restore system to factory default." Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to restore your computer to its factory settings, click "Start," then click "OK."

"Operating System Not Found" Error Message

    • 1). Turn your Gateway desktop computer off, then check to make sure no USB devices are connected to your computer. Unplug any USB devices and restart your computer. If no USB devices are plugged into your computer, proceed to the next step.

    • 2). Open the Gateway desktop computer tower. Check to make sure the cables are firmly connected to the hard drive. Close the computer tower and restart the computer. If you're still receiving the error message, the hard drive is likely corrupt and you'll need to proceed to the next step.

    • 3). Restore your Gateway computer to its original factory settings using the recovery discs that were provided with your computer (see Resources). If no recovery discs were provided with your computer, you'll need to order recovery discs from Gateway (see Resources).
