How to Manage My Network Passwords with XP Home
- 1). Log into the computer using the account that contains the information you wish to change.
- 2). Select "Start" and click "Control Panel."
- 3). Click "User Accounts." This will display the "User Accounts" dialog box.
- 4). Open the "Stored User Names and Passwords" option. The way you do this depends on the type of account you are logged in as. If you are logged in as a limited user, you will need to click on "Manage my network passwords" under "Related Tasks." If you are logged in on an administrator account, click on the user account you wish to open. Select "What do you want to change about your account?" This will allow you to edit any user account. Alternatively, as an administrator, you may also select the "Manage my network passwords" option.
- 5). Click the desired credential, then click "Properties" in the "Stored User Names and Passwords" window.
- 6). Choose which items you wish to change. To edit a password, select the username you desire to change the password for. Click "Change." Type the old password in the "Old Password" box. Type the new password in the "New Password" box. Click "OK." When finished, click "OK."
- 7). Click "Close" in the "Stored User Names and Passwords" window.
