How to Install a PKI Certificate

    • 1). Double-click the PKI file on your hard drive. This starts your Windows certificate installation wizard. Click "Next" on the first opened window.

    • 2). Enter a new file name for the certificate installation or leave the default. Click "Next." Type the password for the certificate. This is the password you set up between you and the institution with which you are communicating. Click "Next."

    • 3). Check the boxes labeled "Enable Strong Private Key Protection" and "Mark this key as exportable," and click "Next." Click the option labeled "Automatically Select the Certificate store" and click "Next."

    • 4). Click "Finish" to install your certificate. Choose "High" security and enter your password one more time. Click "OK" to close the wizard.
