How to Program a Keyless Entry for a 2001 Chevy Venture

    • 1). Locate the fuse panel and remove the cover. The fuse panel is located behind the passenger door and can be seen when the door is open.

    • 2). Find the BCM PRGRM fuse using the diagram on the fuse panel cover. Remove the fuse using a fuse puller or a pair of pliers.

    • 3). Sit inside the vehicle and close all of the doors, including the lift gate in the back. Place the key into the ignition.

    • 4). Turn the key to the ACC position. Turn it back to off, then back to ACC. This must be done within one second.

    • 5). Open a door and close it again. Listen for the vehicle to make a chiming sound to signify that it has entered programming mode.

    • 6). Hold down both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote that you are programming. Keep the buttons pressed for 14 seconds, until the vehicle chimes twice. Repeat this step with any other remotes, including remotes that were used before reprogramming.

    • 7). Take the key out of the ignition and replace the BCM PRGRM fuse. Test the remotes from outside of the vehicle.
