What Is the Baan System?

    Development

    • The Baan company was subsequently acquired by SSA Global and later by Infor, who renamed the Baan product Infor ERP LN and announced enhanced reporting services, multiple book accounting and other new components. The latest version of Infor ERP LN, version 6.1, contains many enhancements when compared with its predecessor, ERP Baan IVc.

    Pros and Cons

    • Infor ERP LN provides an attractive user interface with many graphical and point-and-click features and is compatible with Microsoft tools. Security-wise, however, it is not strong and relies on its compatibility with other products in this respect.

    Popularity

    • The Baan system became increasingly popular in the 1990s, when it was initially purchased by Boeing, raising its profile, and reached its peak in terms of sales in 1997. Infor continues to increase its customer base year on year, however, thanks to the popularity of its client support features.
