How to Apply Windows Vista 64 Bit
- 1). Shop for a computer that suits you best and supports 64-bit processing if you do not currently have a computer that supports 64-bit. Refer the the Resources section for several computer manufacturers. You are not limited to the companies listed here. Skip this step if you currently own a computer that supports 64-bit processing and you wish to install Vista on it instead.
- 2). Purchase a version of Windows Vista that is 64-bit. Refer to the Resources section for help on purchasing the appropriate version. If the computer you currently own or bought in Step 1 came with Vista 64-bit installed, you may skip this step.
- 3). Hook up the computer if it is not currently set up. Use the manual for aid if you are unsure of what cables to hook up. Turn it on and allow the computer to boot up. If you purchased Windows Vista separately, then press the "Eject" button on the computer's DVD drive. Insert the Vista disc and press the "Eject" button again to close the drive.
- 4). Allow up to five minutes for the computer to detect the disc. When the Vista setup program displays, follow the on-screen instructions to install it. Once the setup is complete, reboot your computer to finalize the new operating system. Your computer will now have a complete 64-bit system.
