A Virtual Way to Run Cisco IOS on a Laptop Computer
- 1). Log on to the Windows computer using an account with administrative rights.
- 2). Download the Virtual Cisco IOS software. (See Resources)
- 3). Install the Cisco IOS software using the installation package. Follow the onscreen prompts.
- 4). Click "Start," "Programs" then navigate to the Cisco IOS application. Click the name of the Cisco IOS application.
- 5). Navigate to the Cisco device that you wish to virtually configure. For example, select "Cisco 2600" to work with the Cisco 2600 series of routers.
