How to Save a File in Windows 7
- 1). Click "File" in the main menu of the application you are using.
- 2). Scroll down and click "Save." The application will prompt you to give it a name if this is the first time saving the file.
- 3). Use the "Save as ..." option to save a new version of the file and choose a place for it to reside on your hard drive. A dialog box will appear. You can choose where to save the file with the drop-down menu at the top of the dialog box. Name the file in the "File name" field and choose what file type you want to save the file as in the "Save as type" drop-down menu. Click the "Save" button.
