- 1). Double-click the ExMerge executable. ExMerge is a tiny application, so it does not have an icon on the Start menu.
- 2). Enter the Exchange server name. The first window that is presented asks for the name of the Exchange server. This can be the local server or a remote server name. Click the "Next" button.
- 3). Select "Recover Storage Group" from the listbox of options. Click the "Next" button.
- 4). Choose the mailbox to recover or save. This window displays all the available mailboxes on the server. Click "Next." At this point, the mailbox is recovered and saved to the directory where ExMerge is saved on the hard drive.
- 5). Copy the PST file to the Outlook folder. ExMerge creates a PST file, which is the file format for saved Outlook email. Save this file to the storage location of the Outlook client, and the email is shown the next time the user opens the application.
