How do I Restore .Bkf Files to Vista 64?

    Activate Removable Storage Management

    • 1). Click "Start" from your Window's desktop and select "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click "Programs" and select "Turn Windows Features On or Off."

    • 3). Provide administrator credentials or permission when prompted.

    • 4). Select "Removable Storage Management" by clicking its check box and click "OK."

    Windows NT Backup---Restore Utility

    • 1). Visit the utilities download page (see Resources).

    • 2). Click "Continue" next to the file information.

    • 3). Click "Continue" to run the Genuine Windows Validation tool.

    • 4). Save the file to your desktop when prompted.

    • 5). Double-click the downloaded executable to launch it.

    • 6). Click "Copy to Clipboard."

    • 7). Paste the validation code into the text box at the bottom of the Web page and click "Validate."

    • 8). Click "Download" next to "NtBackupRestore_Win64.msi." This will download the 64-bit utility to match your version of Vista. Save the file to your desktop when prompted.

    • 9). Double-click the downloaded executable to begin the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

      Click "Start" from your Window's desktop, click "Programs," click "Windows NT Backup Restore -- Utility" and click "NTbackup-RestoreUtility."

      Click "Restore Wizard."

      Browse to the location of your .BKF file and click "OK."

    • 13

      Browse through the content of your .BKF file and select all files and folders you wish to restore and click "OK."

    • 14

      Click "Advanced" to specify a location to restore your files to and click "Finish." The utility will now restore all selected files to your specified location.
