- 1). Flip the visor to its most open position. If you are not wearing a helmet with a visor, such as a half helmet, you may skip this step.
- 2). Unsnap the snap closure on the chin strap of your helmet. When you are wearing your helmet, the strap should be threaded securely through the D-rings and kept snapped at all times.
- 3). Unthread the chin strap through the D-rings on your helmet. If you are not familiar with this procedure, you may want to use a mirror to guide your fingers.
- 4). Follow the chin straps, your fingers, up to the point where they go into your helmet. This will be very close to your ears.
- 5). Pull the chin straps away from your head. This will help to ease the padding away from your ears, allowing you to more easily pull your helmet off.
- 6). Support your helmet as you pull it off your head. If you are wearing a full-face helmet, you will have more weight to support. Half helmets and 3/4 helmets will come off more quickly and easily.
